Beta Version 1.1.9.001 Available
Hey Gamers,
The 1.1.9 update is a HUGE update that makes many changes to the project. Many of these changes will allow me to support the project in the future by making the avatar more flexible and easy to change.
However, because there have been so many adjustments to the project, I'm releasing a Beta version to help track down any remaining issues. I have tried to find and fix as many as I can. There may still be some issues that escape me, and I could use your help tracking them down before I can officially call this version released.
Please report any bugs to takomalynx@gmail.com or the Bug Reports channel on the Discord Server. Please briefly describe the bug and any steps I can follow to reproduce the issue.
Here's a short rundown of some of the changes:
- REQUIRED PACKAGES:
- Install these packages using the VRChat Creator Companion:
- If these packages are not installed, the project will not work properly.
- It is also recommended to install Gesture Manager and AudioLink
- All models have been updated. Some of these changes include:
- Adjustments to the position of the head and neck of the Body.
- All hair and horn models have been updated/optimized to fit the new head position
- Some hair models have unique setups. Many are now also affected by the neck bone. This new setup will allow for longer hairstyles/manes in the future
- Additional UVs have been added to models to work with some additional shader features
- A new scene file has been added: Dragoncat-V1.1.9 scene file
- You can find this file at Assets/Avatars/DragonCat/Scenes/DragonCatV1_1_9.unity
- This includes example avatars: the base avatar, a example that uses different textures, and a plantigrade version.
- All attachments now use VRCFury.
- This includes: Ears, Hoodie, Hair, Horns, Scales, Glasses, and Warmers.
- All of the attachments can be found at:
- Assets/Avatars/DragonCat/Prefabs
- All of the attachments can be found at:
- When adding attachments, they must be placed as a child of the DragonCat object. See the scene for examples.
- Attachments can be added and removed freely as they are separate from the body model.
- This includes: Ears, Hoodie, Hair, Horns, Scales, Glasses, and Warmers.
- Customization sliders are now included as a VRCFury attachment. They can be removed to free up parameter space.
- If you wish to change the avatar’s blend shapes, you should only need to adjust the body blend shapes. All attachments should properly fit to the body once uploaded or when in Play Mode while previewing with Gesture Manager.
- Materials have been updated, and previous materials may not be compatible with specific features.
- I have added UVTile Dissolve features to the materials, allowing certain mesh parts to be hidden/disabled when an accessory is active. For instance, when the leg warmers are enabled, the mesh underneath them should not appear. This required adjusting all materials. Using previous versions of materials with these features will cause them to break.
- NEW: This version includes Clip Studio files for editing textures and in addition to Photoshop files. A Substance Painter file is available as a separate download.
- These files are located INSIDE of the Unity package. You must unpack the package to find them.
- Once the package in installed, you can find them in their respective folders at:
- Assets/Avatars/DragonCat/Meshes/Materials
- NEW: The avatar uses D4rkPl4y3r’s avatar optimizer to combine skinned meshes and materials.
- The VRCSDK may not display the correct quality information because the optimizer does its work during the avatar upload process. Check in-game to see what the quality of the avatar is after uploading.
- With this optimizer, it is possible to create Good quality versions of the avatar. Several phys bone must be removed, such as the Butt, Toes, and/or Cheeks in order to get under the phys bone limit.
- The VRCSDK may not display the correct quality information because the optimizer does its work during the avatar upload process. Check in-game to see what the quality of the avatar is after uploading.
